Lambeth's Got Talent!
The evening of 24th April was a special event for the Lambeth School Sport Programme. This date saw The Elmgreen School playhost to our 1st ever DANCE PERFORMANCE Event!
This event was an opportunity for schools within the borough to showcase their talents in Dance and perform routines that theyhave been working on at school, either in curriculum or at out of school clubs. The event was aimed at all school ages, so we had performances from Primary & Secondary Schools taking part
Bronze Medalists!
The Lambeth School Sport Programme is very proud to announce that the Under 14 Girls from Platanos College are now the proud oweners of BRONZE School Games medals!!
After winning our local Level 2 School games competition bak in 2012 at the start of the academic year the College got the opportunity to progress to the next level of the Games.
Central London Champions!
Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Granton Primary who once again have become the Central London Champions for Primary Sportshall Athletics!
Again Huge CONGRATULATIONS also go to La Retraite Roman Catholic School who are also the Central London Sportshall Athleitcs Champions, for both Year 7 and Year 8 Girls age groups!
Julians go to Twickers
Prior to one of this years 6 Nations England matches the children from Julians Primary School Tag Rugby team got the exciting opportunity to go to Twickenham Stadium!
The children first got to play in a small tournament with other schools on the Twickenham Pitch, playing on the same grass that England players Farrell, Ashton and others would hours later. They also got to be a part of the guard of honour as England & Scotland came out passed the Calcutta Cup.
What an experience for these young students from Lambeth!
Handball Hits Lambeth!
Friday 8th February saw 6 of our boroguhs Secondary Schools throw themselves into our very first Handball competitions ever!
Since the 2012 Games there has been an increased interest among our schools in this great sport. With it being such fast paced, lots of opportunities to score goals and elements of contact it proved a popular competition for those that took part.
Lambeth wins Panthalon!
Southfields College played host to the first Central London Round of the Panathlon Challenge on Tuesday 5th February.
The Panathlon Challenge is an event aimed at young people with a range of physical and cognitive impariments copeting agaisnt one another in their borough teams. The participants compete in field and track athletics, football, new age kurling, boccia, table cricket and polybat.
On your Marks!
Monday 14th January saw a blistering start to the LSSP's competitions for the new calendar year!
2013 kicked off with the Secondary Sportshall Athletics competitions. First up is Year 7's for 2 weeks followed by 2 weeks of competiton with Year 8's.
To get the years competitions off to an even better start we were even joined by Foxy the London Youth Games Mascot and their media team!
Platanos Shoot Through

This week saw Platanos College make a real statement to all other Schools in the boroguh by successfully winning both the Boys and Girls JNR Under 14 Basketball Leagues.
Monday saw the boys defeat Norwood in a thrilling game at the Norwood School and Thursday saw the Girls take on and overcome St Martins in the Fields girls.
Both matches saw the Platanos teams play a realy high level of Basketball that was just too much for their opponents to handle.
BTG Smash It

Well done and congratulations to the Bishop Thomas Grant KS3 A team for their victory in the Lambeth School Sport Programme Boys Badminton league!
The league has been runnign for a toal of 3 weeks and been contested by a total of 6 teams from 5 Secondary Schools in the borough.
Norwood Take the Title
Thursday 29th November saw the Final of the LSSP Y11 6 a side football league take place at Evelyn Grace Academy.
After 4 weeks of league fixtures it was the turn of the top 2 teams to play off for the bragging rights of being crowned Winners of the league overall and collect their winners medals.
